La Marzocco’s GS3 dramatically resets standards for performance among home and light commercial categories. It compares favourably to the finest high volume machines on the market today. In a tiny footprint, with water reservoir or plumb-in options, GS3 suits home use and has sufficient steam power and performance recovery for many commercial applications including restaurants, catering and professional offices.
Founded in 1927 by Giuseppe and Bruno Bambi, La Marzocco had its beginnings in Florence, Italy, birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and home to such geniuses as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Brunelleschi who created some of the most celebrated works of art in the world. It seems only fitting that La Marzocco, would earn a world renown reputation for making beautiful, high quality, superbly crafted and uniquely designed espresso machines, with great attention to detail.
In 1939, it was La Marzocco that developed and patented the first coffee machine with a horizontal boiler, now an industry standard. This was the first of a series of important innovations, later to include the dual-boiler system with saturated brewing groups.
Tradition and a passion in the search for quality and superior reliability are factors which have always distinguished and interested the entire company. Even today, highly specialized personnel still supervise each stage in the production of every single machine, hand-crafted to order for each and every client. In this way, Giuseppe Bambi's great experience and professional pride live on after over eighty years. Today, La Marzocco remains an artisan company, while offering important advancements in equipment technology to its customers and in the industry.
Espresso coffee machines have two primary functions: brewing espresso and steaming milk. High demands of steaming power can upset the temperature stability of a single boiler heat-exchanger type machine. This can result in bitter or scorched espresso. La Marzocco machines have completely separate, dedicated boilers for each of these functions, allowing them to operate simultaneously yet independently from one another.
The coffee boiler contains a large quantity of water, which is maintained at an optimal brewing temperature kept constantly under control by a precision thermostat that ensures a maximum temperature variation between one coffee and the next of less than ± 1° C. Moreover, among our machines, those with the PID system ensure a temperature variation between one coffee and the next of even less than ± 0.5° C, an industry record.
The high capacity steam boiler contains no internal heat-exchangers. Moreover, the steam pressure can be easily adjusted without impacting the coffee brewing temperature, and its high powered output of dry steam makes it easy to prepare creamy cappuccinos, lattes and macchiatos.
Specialized technicians inspect and carefully check the main components and the equipment, fine-tuning the machine and making sure that the product is in perfect condition, ready to be installed directly at the client's premises, without losing any more time in adjustments and trials.
